Boom Goes the Firecracker Slaw

From crackling sparklers to popping Roman candles, fireworks are a must-see to celebrate the Fourth of July in true American fashion.

Enter Firecracker Slaw, a party-ready favorite from Attune Health’s board-certified holistic nutritionist Lee Bell.

While others will be hauling in platters of fattening and sugar laden brownies, cookies and cakes or bowls of heavy potato salad or mac and cheese, you can stay on a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet — and introduce it to your friends and family — with this good-for-you version of coleslaw.

The red and green cabbage, Bell said, contains anthocyanins, which are well-researched compounds that make this under-appreciated veggie a fantastic low-calorie, anti-inflammatory side dish.

Happy Fourth of July from Attune Health!
